Gain the Skills to be More Comfortable and Confident in Your Library Services to Children

Does your work in the library include service to children and their families? Do you want to do a better job and gain confidence in providing homework assistance, readers’ advisory, tours of your library, or family programs?

Through the Infopeople course Children’s Service Fundamentals, expert children’s librarian and author Penny Peck will help you gain the skills to:

  • Conduct an effective reference interview with children
  • Determine children’s reading interests and find books to meet those interests
  • Plan entertaining programs to attract families to your library
  • Promote books and reading to children of all ages

Plan for this learning experience which starts September 25, 2012 by registering now to save your spot.

NOTE: This course, in combination with Infopeople’s Teen Services Fundamentals course (to be offered in November, 2012), is approved as covering the Youth Services competencies for the LSSC program. Both courses must be taken to meet the competency set.
