CLA 2011: the conference that was

The California Library Association’s 2011 annual conference is now a thing of the past. From Infopeople’s perspective it was a good conference: a fair number of people came by the booth and a good number of those took part in our scavenger hunt (special thanks to Heather Teysko of Califa for gathering all of the great vendor prizes — and for those of you who weren’t there to pick up your prizes, they will be in the mail shortly). Infopeople won an award as Vendor of the Year, which was cool. The two Master Speakers, Nancy Duarte and David Hutchen, were superb and thought-provoking. Battledecks was, well, Battledecks!! and last year’s champion Lori Ayre was unseated by school librarian Glenn Warren (video of the fun is here!). The Eureka reception gave four years of Eurekans (!) a chance to gather and connect.

Pics are here (and more are coming). Thanks to everyone who stopped by and helped make CLA 2011 a year to remember!

CLA 2011 is just around the corner!

All the peeps at Infopeople are in major gearing up mode for the upcoming 2011 California Library Association’s annual conference that kicks off this Friday, Nov 11 in Pasadena. I’m not going to give all the surprises away, but I will say that there will be a photo opportunity at the Infopeople booth and it will be unique! The Tech Petting Zoo also will be present, featuring ebook readers and tablet computers. Oh, and there will be a scavenger hunt like last year with some awesome raffle prizes.

On the more serious learning level, don’t miss Master Speakers Nancy Duarte and David Hutchens.

Stop by and say hello!

UPDATE: I forgot to mention Battledecks on Saturday Nov 12 at 7:30pm.
