Michael Cart Talks about a New Biography of Lewis Carroll

Titled The Story of Alice, this new bio looks at the life of Carroll and how he came to write the Alice in Wonderland books. On a completely different tack, he also talks about the continuing phenomenon of author E.L. James and her  book, Grey, which retells the 50 Shades of Grey story from the perspective of the male protagonist.

podcastIn this podcast, Michael Cart talks about his new book (release date is Sep 1, 2015), Taking Aim: Power and Pain, Teens and Guns. The book is a fiction collection of 14 stories from well known authors that address guns, gun culture and teens from a variety of perspectives.

He also takes on the topic of who will be the next Librarian of Congress. James Billington, Librarian of Congress since 1987, recently announced his retirement. Will a librarian be appointed, or will another historian be appointed? Michael hopes it’s a librarian, but the jury is still out.
