Upcoming virtual conference to check out!

In partnership with Califa, Infopeople is happy to announce the third annual Edgy Librarian, a web conference on new technologies and “edgy” activities in the library world.  It will be held online (so no travel required, yay!) on Feb 1, 2012 from 10am-3pm.

The keynote will be Gina Millsap, Executive Director of the Topeka and Shawnee County Public Library.  Exciting sessions planned on eBooks (and Sacramento’s Book a Nook program), culture change (Cheryl Gould), Open Source ILS update (Lori Bowen Ayre), and New York Public Library’s Labs (think hackerspaces and Wikipedia edit-a-thons!).

The day is held entirely online, with 15 minute breaks in between each session.  The conference will be held online via WebEx, and Infopeople will send login information to all participants.  The fee is $50 for individuals to participate at their computer, and $75 if you want to have a group participate together (ie in a conference room).
